Who you're dealing with
Folio is run by Pavel Šich, the Czech Republic. Write to hello@folio.ooo about anything here.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what's done with your account. Save only what you have the right to keep a personal copy of. Folio is for your own reading and printing, not for publishing other people's work.
The plan
Folio Plan costs $4.99 / €4.99 a month, VAT included. It gives you 200 shares a month; a share is one story saved into Folio. Unused shares don't carry over. Issues and reading are included without a limit.
A new plan starts with a 7-day free trial with 50 shares, once per account. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the plan then renews every month until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan keeps working until the end of the month you've paid for.
Share packs add shares that never expire. They're used after the month's shares and work while you have a plan.
Paying
On the website, payments are taken by Stripe, and you manage the plan, your card and your invoices on Stripe's billing page linked from Your plan. In the iPhone app, payments are taken by Apple under the App Store's terms, and you manage the subscription in your Apple account settings. Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement applies to the app.
Withdrawal and refunds
If you're a consumer in the EU, you may withdraw from a purchase on the website within 14 days. By starting the plan or buying a pack you ask for the service to start at once, so a withdrawal is refunded less the part already used: the days of the plan you had, or the shares of a pack you spent. Write to hello@folio.ooo. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
The service
Folio fetches pages you send it, keeps a copy for you, and uses an AI model to write short summaries. Pages sometimes can't be fetched, and summaries can be wrong. Folio is provided as it is, and liability is limited to what you paid in the last twelve months, except where the law doesn't allow that.
You can delete your stories, or your whole account, at any time. If these terms change in a way that matters, you'll be told in advance, and you can cancel before the change applies to you. These terms are governed by Czech law; consumers keep the protection of the law where they live.
